Summer updates

It's been a while since I last wrote a journal entry, so here we go: 

First things first; I want to, once again, apologize for not being very active on dA. Last time it was because I was out of the country, this time it's because I've been first working on my portfolio to apply to art college, then preparing for the interview thingy at the college, and now it is because I'm preparing to move out. So yes, I did indeed get into college!



To be exactly correct, it's a "University of Applied Sciences", but college is shorter and seems to be close enough, so I use that My course is a Visual Arts course, so lots of drawing, painting, sculpting and all that good stuff I might open a separate dA account for college things, we'll see.

So yes, I'll start college in a town I've visited about 3 times in my entire life, that'll be interesting So my current project (non-art-wise) is preparing to move out to my own little apartment. I haven't yet signed the contract (landlord is out of the country), but it's more or less settled. So yeah, for the next couple of months (until I get the hang of college I guess), there'll be less arting and more real-life shit happening
I'll have to learn to pretend to be an adult On the other hand, I get to choose when I want to do the dishes, and I can walk around my place wearing whatever the hell I want

On another note, I've been watching plenty of Star Trek original series lately, and I also started reading A Song of Ice and Fire and watching Game of Thrones, so a lot of fanart is on its way. I wasn't going to watch Game of Thrones, mainly because it's been so popular everywhere, but I decided to check it out, and I really like it (and the books are even better!) I'm only on the second book/season though, so please no spoilers guys! 

Another thing; *shameless self-advertisement* (shut up, this is my page, I can do what I want) my Etsy shop is and will be up and running, though I'm not sure how many things I have time to crochet in these next few months (I've tried to always upload at least one new item each month, but we'll see).

Something regarding Etsy: here in Finland they post service has recently changed the parcel sizes and prices; earlier parcels that were less than 3 cm thick could be sent as letters, so they were reasonably cheap, but now parcels have to be under 2 cm to be counted as letters. On top of this, they don't even sell cardboard parcels that are only 2 cm thick. This means that my bigger amigurumis will have to be sent as "max letters", which is three times more expensive I like to send my stuff as cheaply as possible, because I myself hate it when I want to buy something and the shipping costs twice the price of the item itself, so this sucks. Anyway, I've included a shipping option that takes probably twice as long, but is a couple euros cheaper, that's the best I can do. But even then, shipping bigger amigurumis outside of Europe is ridiculously expensive. *sigh* Luckily at least my smaller crochets can fit in that 2 cm space. I'll just have to start making my own parcels I guess.

Oh, one more thing; there are people who have asked if I could make some sort of tutorials on how to crochet dolls. I was thinking of trying to make some little videos at some point, maybe not exactly tutorials, but more like "This is how I do these things" type of thing. Anyone interested? I don't want to spend a lot of time making a video just for like 2 views I've also considered starting a blog, mainly about crochet and other crafts I do, though we'll have to see about that.
